Alexandre Bilodeau – Tribute to a Great Champion

Summary of the exhibition

Originally from Rosemère in the Laurentians. Alexandre Bilodeau is a two time Olympic gold medalist in freestyle skiing (moguls), with an exceptional sport career that could just as well not have happened. While at first interested in hockey, he was encouraged by his parents to take up skiing. In 1994, while watching Jean-Luc Brassard win a gold medal in the Lillehammer Olympic Games, his passion for the sport was born. Sixteen years later, in 2010, with his gold medal in the Vancouver Olympics, he became the first Canadian athlete (in any sport) to win an Olympic Gold medal at home in his own country. Four years later, in 2014 in Sochi, he accomplished another feat in picking up a second Gold and defending his title as Olympic Champion. His forty eight podiums, his nineteen World Cup victories, his three World titles and his two Olympic Golds make Alexandre Bilodeau the most decorated Canadian skier in both the Olympic and on international stages.
