ABOUT GRAY ROCKS

Gray Rocks Resort, established in 1905 in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, played a pivotal role in the development of skiing in the Laurentians and the broader North American ski culture. Located north of Montreal, Gray Rocks was one of the first resorts to introduce formalized ski instruction, founding the Snow Eagle Ski School in 1948. This school set high standards for ski teaching, making the sport accessible to beginners and helping to popularize skiing as a recreational activity.

Gray Rocks’ inclusive approach drew visitors from across Canada and the U.S., fostering tourism and transforming the Laurentians into a sought-after ski destination. Its accessible slopes, family-friendly environment, and emphasis on high-quality instruction cultivated a loyal following and inspired the growth of additional ski centers in the region. Gray Rocks not only brought skiing to the Laurentians but also helped shape its lasting identity as a premier skiing destination in Canada.
