Laurentian Ski Hall of Fame – LSM
Mélanie Turgeon, born in Quebec City, is a prominent Canadian alpine ski racer who specialized in downhill events. As a member of Canada’s National Alpine Ski Team, Turgeon had a remarkable career marked by numerous successes on the international stage.
Her most notable achievement came in 2003 when she became World Champion in the downhill event at the World Championships in St. Moritz. This victory was a significant milestone, highlighting her as one of the top competitors in her sport. Throughout her career, Turgeon consistently performed at high level in World Cup races, securing multiple top-10 races.
