At 14, Betsy Clifford became a member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team and remained with them for 8 years. She distinguished herself at the World Championships – Giant Slalom and at the World Cup in 1970. She was first in slalom at the World Cup in 1971. She finished second in downhill at the World Championships in 1974. She was the Canadian ski champion between 1974 and 1976.
