Instructor, builder and member of the Cochand family born in Neuchâtel, Switzerland in 1937, Eugène Chedel devoted more than 40 years to skiing in various functions. He arrived in the Laurentians in 1957. He served as ski school director at Chalet Cochand (1964-68) and at Stoneham (1971-73). He served as president of Ski Quebec for 4 years in the late 70s. He was also an official at the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. He also owned and operated CKC Sports. In the 80s, he managed the mountain operations at the Sainte-Marguerite Ski Club. Now, in his 70s, he still enjoys skiing with his grandchildren 5-10 times a year.
