Laurentian Ski Hall of Fame – LSM
Laurentian Lodge Ski Club
(1923)
The oldest ski club in North-America.
Inducted in 2006
Founded in 1923 and familiarly known as the Shawbridge Club, it is the oldest residential ski club in North America and was still active when inducted into the Laurentian Ski Hall of Fame in 2006 with over 160 members in all categories. The World’s first rope-tow was on the big Hill just across from the lodge. The town of Shawbridge had one of the earliest cros-country trail networks in the Laurentians mainly due to the presence of the Laurentian Lodge and its very active members who helped to develop it.
