Laurentian Ski Hall of Fame – LSM

Louis
Dufour*
(1941 - 2022)
Contributor to the modern Sommet Saint-Sauveur's success.
Inducted in 1994

Following a youth dominated by skiing and competition where he made it to the National Team, Louis spent a few years outside of skiing, in “regular industry”. In 1971, he was offered an opportunity to come back to his first love by joining the Mont-Saint-Sauveur marketing team. Mont-Saint-Sauveur was, at that time, a small, simple ski area but with lots of potential. He was able to instill new life and soul to the historic Lower Laurentians ski area making it the province’s development model for modern ski areas. It can also be stated with some degree of certainty that the economic rebirth of the village of Saint-Sauveur was greatly fuelled by the rebirth of the ski area.
