Laurentian Ski Hall of Fame – LSM

Patrouille Canadienne de ski
(1941)
Its members wrote the first Manuel about first aid for skiers.
Inducted in 1999

Members of the Canadian Ski Patrol began supplementing the work of first aid posts at Laurentian ski hills shortly after the founding of the CSPS in 1941. Members of the Laurentian Zone were the originators of the first ski patrollers’ manual, and initiated the self developed and operated Canadian Ski Patrol System’s training courses. Laurentian patrollers helped to found and operate both the Quebec Ski Council and the Canadian Ski Council. Today, over 5,000 members in the Laurentian Zone are engaged in the promotion of ski safety to their fellow skiers, and the provision of first care and rescue services to those who are injured.
