Inducted in 1989

Pierre Cochand, son of the well known Émile Cochand, was born in 1924 at Sainte-Marguerite-Station. He awarded the Sainte-Agathe Ski Club Cup for the slalom competition in 1938. He was the winner of many championships of the Laurentian Zone and Inter School Championships between 1939 and 1945. He was the winner of the Taschereau Cup at Mont-Tremblant in slalom and downhill in 1940 and in 1942. Under the guidance of Fritz Tschannen, he installed, in 1951, a ski jump at Chalet Cochand contributing to the evolution of this sport in the Laurentians. He was the winner of the Laurentian Jumping Championships in 1952. Pierre Cochand was a great skier and also a talented artist.
